Sheridan Zuther grew up on the central prairie plains of North Dakota and as soon as she could talk, started singing in her farm concrete silo, and climbed up bales of hay to perform for crowds of cows. She started piano lessons at the age of 2½, her mother claiming that practicing piano was the only thing that could keep her quiet. At age 9, Sheridan was fortunate to have encouraging parents who drove 120 miles every week in order for her to take private voice lessons at Minot State University for the next 8 years.

Sheridan went on to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Conservatory of Music, receiving her B.M. in Vocal Performance-Opera. While in college, she discovered other outlets of musical entertainment that inspired her love of singing a range of genres from country to pop, from gospel to jazz, performing with variety bands around the state of North Dakota, in Kansas City and the Twin Cities.

After graduate studies at UMKC, she moved to the Twin Cities and starred in musical theatre productions at the Ordway Center, the Guthrie, Park Square Theater, Minneapolis Musical Theater, Bloomington Civic Theater and productions with the MN Orchestra. Sheridan has performed at Carnegie Hall, was a soloist for MMT’s Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens for the MN AIDS Project at the Pantages Theatre, and guest soloist with the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir. As an alumni of the Cabaret Conference at Yale University, she is one of the founding members of the Twin Cities Cabaret Artists Network (TCCAN), promoting public awareness and advancement of cabaret performance in the Twin Cities community. She is also TCCAN's Production Manager, overseeing the production of ten cabaret-salons each year.

From 2005-2014, Sheridan performed with the nationally-acclaimed vocal quintet Five By Design, and thoroughly enjoyed working in the entertainment industry as their Operations Manager as well as co-creating Five By Design’s musical production Stay Tuned, which premiered in 2006 with the Arkansas Symphony. With 5XD, she toured the continental U.S. and Canada averaging 200 days on the road, performing lush harmonies and swingin’ rhythms with symphony orchestras and studio big bands, in conjunction with teaching vocal clinics and master classes in high schools and universities. From 2009-2011, she was honored to teach vocal jazz and musical theatre at International Music Camp at the Peace Gardens on the North Dakota/ Manitoba border, giving back to a wonderful art institution which she attended for 4 summers in her early teens studying saxophone, drama and creative writing.

As Associate Producer with Cardinal Theatricals, she co-produces large-scale musicals such as RENT and The Rocky Horror Show starring Don Shelby.

She recently served as guest artist and clinician at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse Vocal Jazz Festival and Eau Claire North H.S. Jazz Festival. She also teaches voice and beginning piano at her home studio in NE Minneapolis and at Interact Center for Visual and Performing Arts in St. Paul.

Sheridan is thankful for her parents, Donald & Carol Zuther, for their sacrifice for the many years of music lessons and their loving support!
